Todd English P.U.B. is a Great Place to Go For Craft Beer Happy Hours
As part of my trip last month to Las Vegas, part of my interest – in addition to exploring the kosher-certified restaurants – was to explore places on the Las Vegas Strip that had the most beers available on-tap. While this post is my first in this series, there will be several more forthcoming.
Located in Crystals, Todd English P.U.B. (PUB = Public Urban Bar) offers a lot of beers on tap, as well as many whiskies! I counted over fifty beers on-tap, which is one of the most available along the Vegas Strip. Moreover, they try to change up their options frequently and have quite the variety amongst them.
One aspect that clearly sets them apart from many other establishments serving a variety of beer options on the Vegas Strip is that they have two happy hour segments: 3-6pm, as well as 10-12pm – naturally, I went for the latter. But what really makes their happy hour special is that they offer ALL pints on draft at half-price! You’d be a fool to pass this deal up!
They also offer flights of beer (and whiskey! (more on that in another post)), so, when I went there, I ordered a flight of beer. I went with their “Big Boys Flight”, starting off with Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, which is simply an excellent beer. Next up was St. Bernadus ABT 12, which has a fascinating body to it, as well as an easy drinkability to it; also, I wasn’t expecting a Belgian beer, but was happy it was there to mix things up. Third up was Squatters Hop Rising, which was a bit on the malty side for me (normally, they serve Green Flash Palate Wrecker in this spot, but they were all out). Finishing out the flight was Firestone Double Jack IPA, which was excellent.
I also had a friendly and easy-going bartendress serving me, which made for a nice experience, plus the crowd there was not heavy, so I had a nice time and I highly recommend visiting it (particularly for their happy hour).
