Considering the Most Visited Posts in the First Six Months
A half-year ago, I began this website with the aim of producing content Monday-Friday and, with the exception of certain weeks (whether being away on a work trip or other things going on), I was able to do that. Now that I’ve reached the half-year mark, I wanted to look at the top ten most visited posts and discuss some of them (as well as some that I thought would be more popular):
- Two Young Modern Orthodox PhDs Take Senior Positions with National Jewish Organizations
- “Location” Replaces “GPS” in Android KitKat: Annoyingly, Not One, but TWO Consent Screens!
- Android Finally Gives an Option to Get Rid of the Pesky Second Location Consent Screen
- “The New F-Word” Panel at Comikaze Features Discussion on Feminism
- New Online Jewish Educational Website in the Works
- Panel Discussion at Comikaze on Taking Pictures of Cosplayers
- New Center for Halakhic Studies to Open Under the Direction of Rabbi Ysoscher Katz
- Newly-Released Volume Dedicated to Discussing ברכת שלא עשני אשה
- Talmudic Expert Takes to Facebook to Share Broader Communal and Religious Ideas
- Las Vegas Kosher Restaurant News: New Restaurant to Open and Old Restaurant to Move
While the post with the most views has significantly many more views than the next few posts, the posts concerning Android and GPS/Location consistently are the posts with the most views on a weekly and daily basis – apparently, people are curious about them and people are searching for related content. The two posts on this list about panels at this year’s Comikaze were largely due to panelists and others retweeting my posts and sharing it on Facebook. As to the Jewish posts on that list, it seems that they got a lot of views on account of no one else having written about them, which is nice that I am able to fulfill a bit of a niche.
And here are three posts that I expected to have gotten more views are
- Top Seven Places on the Las Vegas Strip for Most Beers On-Tap (for people looking to find out where they can find out their beer options while on The Strip)
- Five Favorable Features of the Samsung Note 4 (it’s a good, new phone from Samsung and people might be interested)
- Looking to Keep Kosher While in Las Vegas? Here are Your Kosher Restaurants and More in Las Vegas (for people looking to keep kosher in Las Vegas)
I am looking forward to seeing how posts’ views go up in the next half-year 🙂
