Matters of Interest Returns for 2017

Matters of Interest is coming back for 2017
When Matters of Interest began in July 2014, it was designed to be a site where new content would be published Monday through Friday. And it succeeded in doing that from its outset. For many months, with only certain breaks or planned breaks, the site consistently published a new piece every day. Of course, this was driven by the present author, who also serves as the editor, when I transitioned from publishing at Drew’s Views to this new site. The big change in this author’s life that prompted the launch of these websites was the birth of the author’s third child.
Curiously enough, with the birth of the author’s fourth child, Matters of Interest was thrown into a tailspin. From July 2014 through March 2016, this site published 281 of posts, primarily by this author, although also inclusive of other authors, with an average of more than 13 posts per month; however, from April 2016 through April 2017, there have been only 22 posts, with most of them coming between April to September (17).
Clearly, the first phase of Matters of Interest (July 2014-March 2016) is quite distinct from that of its second phase (April 2016-April 2017), and I am seeking to introduce this website’s third phase (May 2017-onward). While not promising to publish daily content, I do seek to more frequently publish content (at least more frequently than the second phase).
As to why the publishing has dropped off, it is a simple matter of this author not having as much time to write, largely due to having a fourth child, but there are other factors, as well. Perhaps this is mere hopefulness, but here’s to the next phase of Matters of Interest.
