Long Beach Comic Expo Expands and Moves to the Spring
Coming off their fifth annual such event, Long Beach Comic Expo has announced that it will be bigger than it has ever been. Not only that, it will also be moving to earlier in the year – the 2014 event took place May 31-June 1 and the 2015 event is scheduled for February 28-March 1. Having written about this year’s conference, I found its first-ever Sunday to be a nicely intimate atmosphere, yet there is still room for growth and retain a pleasant atmosphere.
According to the press release, “Building on year over year growth and a hugely successful fifth anniversary show, the Long Beach Comic Expo team is proud that the 2015 show will move February 28 and March 1, 2015, with five-times more floor space, offering more exhibitors, creators and programming all weekend.”
“In order to grow the Expo into a full exhibit hall event, we had to move away from the other spring shows e.g. Emerald City, Wondercon, etc.,” said Martha Donato, responding to why the Expo will be moving a few months earlier. “The Feb. 28/March 1 date was the best one the convention center could offer us. That said, now that we’ve been talking to people about it, that time of year is great for a lot of people, so we’re happy we decided to move forward.”
“Everyone I know has a great time when they come to Long Beach,” said Craig Miller, president, Wolfmill Entertainment.
“More and more people are finding something they love about comics conventions, and we are honored to support the fans of Southern California,” said Phil Lawrence, Co-Founder and Sales Director of the Long Beach Comic Con. “The Expo has grown every year, filling a real demand for a classic convention where fans, creators and exhibitor can all enjoy interacting with each other.”
Long Beach Comic Expo is a true comic con focused on creating a fantastic family friendly experience for both fans and exhibitors alike in Southern California. The sixth annual Long Beach Comic Expo, which will be a weekend full of special guests and exhibitors, and engaging panels, will be taking place on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 10am to 6pm, and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Long Beach Convention Center.
